CRANFORD, NJ - Congratulations to this week’s athletes of the week, Kiera Hurley and James Harris.
Hurley, a senior on the track & field team led the 4x800m relay team to a new school record and a third-place overall finish, with a split time of 2:22 at the Union County Relays.
On breaking the record, Hurley said, “It was something we didn’t expect, but we all pulled together and worked hard to get it.”
When the accomplished runner is not on the track she enjoys going out with her friends.
Hurley will take her running talent to the University of Tampa in the fall, where she plans to major in Biology.
Harris, the senior goalkeeper on the varsity lacrosse team has been strong defensively all season long, coming up big in net against Governor Livingston, Hanover Park and Scotch Plains this past week.
During his free time Harris said, “I like hanging out with my friends, we all like to play sports, so that's what we usually do when we are together." It's ususally sports they don't play competitively; soccer, football, frisbee, etc...
Harris will attend Syracuse University in the fall where he will major in Finance and intends to try out for the club lacrosse team.
