Congratulations to this week's Athletes of the Week, freshman swimmer Emily Wilson and sophomore wrestler Chris Scorese.

Emily has been instrumental in helping the 200 yard medley team set a new record, in addition to dominating the individual 50 freestyle in Union County. She also regularly competes in the 100 individual freestyle and 400 freestyle relay with her team. She comments on balancing both her individual and team goals as just a freshmen, "My goals were to break some of the Cranford HS records and be able to contribute to the team high point value, in addition to qualifying for the Meet of Champions at the end of the season."

The next varsity swim meet is this evening at Plainfield High School.

While Emily spends alot of time in the pool juggling both her HS and club team obligations, Chris is doing his part on the mat for the Cougars. Riding a seven pin streak and one of the team's top point leaders overall wrestling in the 126 weight class, Chris does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. He helped the Cougars end a very successful weekend of matches with wins over Scotch Plains, Christian Brothers Academy and Cedar Grove.

Entering a big week ahead, the team stays focus on the goals of first facing Union HS tomorrow at 5pm (in Union) and then at the Union County Tournament this weekend, where they look to place every wrestler and capture a team title.
