Cranford Police Blotter: Multiple Arrests for Possession of Marijuana & More

Arrested: Matthew Boruch, 22, Scotch Plains

Arrested by:  Det. Spencer Durkin

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2017 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue @ E. North Avenue for careless driving.  Following an investigation at the scene, Det. Durkin located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Matthew Boruch, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Boruch was also issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving.

GSP 137 NB Ramp @ E. North Avenue

Arrested:  Elvin Houston, 38, Newark

Arrested by: Ptl. John Rattigan

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2000 Dodge was stopped on the GSP 137 NB Ramp for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Rattigan located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Elvin Houston, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Houston was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having tinted windows and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Centennial Avenue @ E. Lincoln Avenue

Arrested: Daniel Rivera, 38, Cranford

Arrested by:  Ptl. Gregory Federici

Charges: Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2007 Hyundai was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ E. Lincoln Avenue for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Daniel Rivera, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Rivera was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lamps and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

GSP 136 SB Entrance Ramp @ Raritan Road

Arrested: Courtney Baker, 33, New Brunswick

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael O’Neil

Charges: Possession of Marijuana (under 50); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2013 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of the GSP 136 SB Ramp @ Raritan Road for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. O’Neil located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Courtney Baker, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Baker was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having a view obstruction and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in motor vehicle.

E. North Avenue @ Carpenter Place

Arrested: Amanda Losasso, 28, Roselle Park

Arrested by: Ptl. Shayne Temple

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:  A 2010 Nissan was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue @ Carpenter Place for careless driving.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Temple determined that the driver, Amanda Losasso, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated.  Losasso was arrested, processed, and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Losasso was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, and unclear license plates.
