E. Lincoln Avenue @ Thomas Street

Arrested: Matthew Grecco, 22, Williamson, West Virginia

Arrested by:  Ptl. Brian Trotter

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2006 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of E. Lincoln Avenue and Thomas Street a seatbelt violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Trotter located marijuana inside the vehicle.  A passenger, Matthew Grecco, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to wear a seatbelt.

Hampton Road @ Eastman Street

Arrested: Zenasia Bowers, 22, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Joseph Sherbo

Charges:  Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:  Patrol Units responded to the intersection of Hampton Road @ Eastman Street on a reported motor vehicle accident.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Sherbo determined that the driver, Zenasia Bowers, was driving while intoxicated.  Bowers was arrested, processed, and released to a family member, pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Additionally, Bowers was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, careless driving, reckless driving, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Centennial Avenue @ Jackson Drive

Arrested: Darnell Fagg, 27, East Orange

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael O’Neil

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks: A 2006 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ Jackson Drive for failing to signal.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. O’Neil determined that the driver, Darnell Fagg, was driving while intoxicated.  Fagg was arrested, processed, and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Fagg was also issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and failure to signal.

Centennial Avenue @ Myrtle Street

Arrested: Michael Knips, 38, Avenel

Arrested by: Ptl. Daniel Donnerstag

Charges:  Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2002 Hyundai was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ Myrtle Street for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Donnerstag located heroin and a hypodermic syringe inside the vehicle.  A passenger, Michael Knips, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance.  The driver was issued a summons for having a view obstruction.

E. South Avenue @ Centennial Avenue

Arrested: Christopher Boyd, 45, Cranford

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael O’Neil

Charges: Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  While investigating the source of an odor of marijuana, Ptl. O’Neil conducted a pedestrian stop of an individual, Christopher Boyd.  Boyd was found to be in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.  Boyd was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  

 

6.  07/18/2017 7:40 p.m.

GSP NB 137 @ E. North Avenue

Arrested: Kevin Chance, 31, East Orange

Charges: Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia; Contempt of Court

Remarks:  A 2001 Subaru was stopped at the intersection of GSP 137 NB and E. North Avenue for a seatbelt violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. O’Neil located marijuana inside the vehicle.  A passenger, Kevin Chance, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Chance was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt.

Beech Street

Arrested: Joie Tortorello, 27, Garwood

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance(Cocaine); Possession of Paraphernalia; Contempt of Court

Remarks:  While on routine patrol, Ptl. Rattigan located a suspicious occupied vehicle in the area of Beech Street.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Rattigan determined that the occupant, Joie Tortorello, had multiple active warrants for her arrest.  Furthermore, it was discovered that Tortorello was in possession of cocaine.  Tortorello was arrested, processed, issued a date to appear in Superior Court, and turned over to the Westfield Police Department on an active warrant.

CRANFORD - The Cranford High School Spring Art Show was held at the Cranford Public Library, on Tuesday. 

From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., artwork from classes such as crafts, graphic design, photography, and drawing was on display for the public to promote the creative and unique projects done by students throughout the school year.
