Raritan Road @ GSP 136 SB Entrance

Arrested: Dimitri Lauvanis, 32, Rahway

Arrested by:  Ptl. Ryan Gerrity

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2006 Dodge was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road @ GSP 136 SB Ramp for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gerrity located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Dimitri Lauvanis, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.

Myrtle Street @ Rod Smith Place

Arrested: Kaleek Boulding, 22, North Brunswick

Arrested by: Ptl. Brian Lopez

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 1994 Honda was stopped at the intersection of Myrtle Street and Rod Smith Place for a seatbelt violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Lopez located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Kaleek Boulding, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Boulding was also issued motor vehicle summonses for having a cracked windshield, failure to wear a seatbelt, and possessing a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.

E. South Avenue @ Thomas Street

Arrested: Jonathan Loewing, 23, Manchester

Arrested: Jalen Pierce, 23, West Orange

Arrested by:  Ptl. Ali Muhammad

Charges: Possession with the intent to Distribute(Cocaine and Marijuana); Possession with the intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a School Zone;  Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance(Heroin);  Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  Patrol Units responded to the area of E. South Avenue @ Thomas Street for a physical altercation in progress.  Upon arrival, Ptl. Muhammad observed an occupied 2006 Nissan in the area.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Muhammad located a multitude of narcotics inside the vehicle, including crack cocaine, marijuana, and heroin.  The owner of the vehicle, Jalen Pierce, claimed ownership of the narcotics.  Pierce was charged with possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute within a school zone, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), possession of marijuana, and possession of heroin.  A passenger inside the vehicle, Jonathan Loewing, was found to be in possession of marijuana.  Both Pierce and Loewing were arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance.

Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road

Arrested: Veronica Figueroa, 36, Linden

Arrested by: Ptl. Robert Jordan

Charges: Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 1999 Honda was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road for a seatbelt violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Veronica Figueroa, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.   Additionally, Figueroa was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while suspended, failure to wear a seatbelt, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.

Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road

Arrested: Vasilios Elzahr, 39, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Gregory Federici

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance(Cocaine and Heroin); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2015 Infiniti was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road for a seatbelt violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici located cocaine and heroin inside the vehicle.  A passenger, Vasilios Elzahr, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance.  Elzahr was also issued a motor vehicle summonses for failing to wear a seatbelt.

McClellan Street @ Centennial Avenue

Arrested:  Leonard Paszkowski, 53, Cranford

Arrested by: Ptl. Ryan Gerrity

Charges:  Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:  Patrol Units responded to the area of McClellan Street for a report of an individual sleeping in a running motor vehicle.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gerrity determined that the driver, Leonard Paszkowski, was driving while intoxicated.  Paszkowski was arrested, processed, and released to a family member, pending a Municipal Court date.  Paszkowski was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breathe testing.

CRANFORD - The Cranford High School Spring Art Show was held at the Cranford Public Library, on Tuesday. 

From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., artwork from classes such as crafts, graphic design, photography, and drawing was on display for the public to promote the creative and unique projects done by students throughout the school year.
