Lincoln Avenue West and Benjamin Street

Arrested: Andy Rozelien, 26, Linden

Arrested by: Ptl. Jason D’Agostino

Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2002 Jeep was stopped on Lincoln Avenue West near the intersection of Benjamin Street for a brake light out. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. D’Agostino arrested a passenger, Andy Rozelien, for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was processed and released pending a Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps and for being unlicensed.

Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road

Arrested: Christopher Anderson, 44, Rahway

Arrested by: Det. Michael Dubitsky

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2002 Ford was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for an improper lane change. Following an investigation at the scene, Det. Dubitsky arrested the driver, Christopher Anderson, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released to a responsible adult with a pending Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued summonses for open container, improper lane change, and obstructing traffic.

Raritan Road and Centennial Avenue

Arrested: Elijah Sealey, 20, Newark

Arrested by: Ptl. Timothy Handy

Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2007 Dodge was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Centennial Avenue for tinted windows. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Handy arrested the driver, Elijah Sealey, for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was processed and released pending a Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and tinted windows.

Jackson Drive and Moen Avenue

Arrested: Timothy Palmer, 25, Carteret

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael O’Neil

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2016 Dodge was stopped on Jackson Drive near Moen Avenue for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. O’Neil arrested a passenger, Timothy Palmer, for suspected crack-cocaine and a hypodermic syringe located inside the vehicle. He was processed and released pending a Superior Court appearance date. Additionally, he was a issued motor vehicle summons for a seatbelt violation.

Walnut Avenue and Lexington Avenue

Arrested: Oleksandr Vorobkalo, 29, Scotch Plains

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael O’Neil

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)

Remarks: A 2011 Mazda was stopped at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Lexington Avenue for careless driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. O’Neil arrested the driver, Oleksandr Vorobkalo, for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released to a responsible adult with a pending Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued summonses for refusal to submit to breath samples, careless driving, and an improper lane change.

North Avenue West and Orchard Street

Arrested: Michael Cassidy, 19, Cranford; Brian Parada, 19, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Christopher Gross

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of a Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2010 Subaru was stopped on North Avenue West near Orchard Street for careless driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gross arrested the driver and passenger of the vehicle, Michael Cassidy and Brian Parada, respectively, for suspected marijuana and paraphernalia located inside the vehicle. Additionally, Michael Cassidy was also charged with suspected THC edibles found inside the vehicle. They were both processed and released pending court appearance dates. The driver was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, improper passing, and careless driving.

 

7. 04/07/2018 6:26 p.m.

Myrtle Street and Rod Smith Place

Arrested: Preston Hammond, 47, Roselle

Arrested by: Ptl. Daniel Donnerstag

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 1999 Ford was stopped at the intersection of Myrtle Street and Rod Smith Place for a brake lamp out. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Donnerstag arrested the driver, Preston Hammond, for suspected crack-cocaine found inside the vehicle. He was processed and provided with a Superior Court appearance date. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for suspended driver and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed Preston Hammond had an active arrest warrant out of Roselle, NJ.

 

8. 04/09/2018 1:31 p.m. 

North Avenue East and the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange

Arrested: Steven Burke, 26, Clark; Jaleel Whiting, 26 Roselle

Arrested by: Ptl. Robert Jordan Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2008 Kia was stopped on North Avenue East near the intersection of the Garden State Parkway Exchange for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan arrested both occupants, Steven Burke and Jaleel Whiting, for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. Both were processed and provided with Municipal Court appearance dates. Additionally, motor vehicle summonses were issued to the driver, Jaleel Whiting, for driving with a suspended license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Steven Burke was issued motor vehicle summonses for a seatbelt violation and allowing an unlicensed person to drive a motor vehicle.

 

9. 04/09/2018 8:13 p.m.

South Avenue East and Burchfield Avenue

Arrested: Angel Torres, 21, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Timothy Handy Charges: Possession of Under 50g (Marijuana); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2006 Acura was stopped on South Avenue East near the intersection of Burchfield Avenue for tinted windows and a brake light out. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Handy arrested the driver, Angel Torres, for suspected marijuana located inside the vehicle. He was processed and released pending a Municipal Court appearance date. Additionally, the driver was issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps, tinted windows and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
