Arrested: Vasilios Elzahr, 39, Elizabeth

Arrested by: Ptl. Gregory Federici

Charges: Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2016 Ford was stopped at the intersection of North Avenue East and Carpenter Place for a seatbelt violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici located suspected crack cocaine inside the vehicle. Vasilios Elzahr was arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for a view obstruction, seatbelt violation, suspended driver’s license and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Centennial Avenue and Hayes Street

Arrested: Brandon Tinneny, 22, Staten Island, NY

Arrested by: Ptl. Ryan Gerrity Charges: Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 1992 Infiniti was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Hayes Street for a brake light violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gerrity located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Brandon Tinneny, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Additionally, he was issued a motor vehicle summons for maintenance of lamps.

North Avenue East and Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange

Arrested: Amanda Kenney, 34, Edison

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael O’Neil Charges: Possession of a Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2004 Jeep was stopped at the intersection of North Avenue East and the Garden State Parkway 137 Exchange for a cracked windshield and a brake light violation. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. O’Neil arrested the driver, Amanda Kenney, for possession of drug paraphernalia that was located inside the car. Once processed, she was released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Additionally, she was issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, a cracked windshield, and a maintenance of lamps.

South Avenue West and Elise Street

Arrested: Javier Loango, 41, Scotch Plains

Arrested by: Ptl. Timothy Handy

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks: A 2013 Honda was stopped on South Avenue West and Elise Street for erratic driving. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Handy arrested the driver, Javier Loango, for driving while intoxicated. In addition, he was also issued motor vehicle summonses for refusal to consent to the taking of breath samples, tinted windows, and careless driving. Javier Loango was released pending a Municipal court appearance.

Centennial Avenue and Cayuga Road

Arrested: Dennis Tomala, 22, Linden

Arrested by: Ptl. Jason D’Agostino

Charges: Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2005 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Cayuga Road for a brake light out. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. D’Agostino located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Dennis Tomala, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Additionally, the driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for maintenance of lamps.

Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road

Arrested: Troy Larkins, 32, Belleville

Arrested by: Ptl. Jason D’Agostino

Charges: Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2018 Ford was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road for failure to maintain his lane. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. D’Agostino located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Troy Larkins was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance. Additionally, he was issued motor vehicle summonses
