Arrested: Raquel Farina, 26, Little Falls

Arrested by:  Ptl. Gregory Federici

Charges:  Possession of a Prescription Analog (Adderall); Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2009 Ford was stopped at the intersection of Myrtle Street @ Commerce Drive for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici located marijuana and Adderall inside the vehicle.  The driver, Raquel Farina, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Farina was issued motor vehicle summonses for having a view obstruction and speeding.

Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road

Arrested: Kristina Yanez, 29, Tinton Falls

Arrested by: Ptl. Ryan Gerrity

Charges:  Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2001 Toyota was stopped at the intersection of Raritan Road and Centennial Avenue for a seatbelt violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gerrity located a glass pipe, commonly used to ingest cocaine, and a hypodermic syringes inside the vehicle.  A passenger, Kristina Yanez, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for failing to wear a seatbelt.

Orange Avenue @ Riverside Drive

Arrested: Robert Harris, 48, Cranford

Arrested: Nichole Castellano, 32, Kenilworth

Arrested by: Ptl. Michael Dubitsky

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine); Possession of Paraphernalia; Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe

Remarks:  A 1999 Oldsmobile was stopped at the intersection of Orange Avenue @ Riverside Drive for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Dubitsky determined that the driver, Robert Harris, was in possession of crack cocaine, and the passenger, Nichole Castellano, was in possession of a hypodermic syringe, and a glass pipe used to ingest cocaine.  Harris and Castellano were arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance.  Harris was issued a motor vehicle summons for possessing a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.

GSP 137 Southbound Ramp @ E. North Avenue

Arrested: Ramon Abreu Jr., 19, Edison

Arrested by: Ptl. Lynne Galvez

Charges: Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 1998 Lexus was stopped at the intersection of the GSP 137 SB Ramp and E. North Avenue for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Galvez located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Ramon Abreu, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court violation.  Abreu was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lamps, failure to make repairs, and possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

GSP 137 NB @ E. North Avenue

Arrested: Thomas Pretlow III, 31, Irvington

Arrested by:  Ptl. Robert Jordan

Charges:  Driving While Intoxicated

Remarks:  A 2011 Mazda was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue @ the GSP 137 NB ramp for  a signal violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan determined that the driver, Thomas Pretlow III, was driving while intoxicated.  Pretlow III was arrested, processed, and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Pretlow III was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, failure to signal, driving while suspended, and failure to maintain lamps.

Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road

Arrested: Demetrius Jeter, 24, Vauxhall

Arrested by: Ptl. Robert Jordan

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana (under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2005 Saturn was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ Raritan Road for a signal violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan located marijuana on the driver, Demetrius Jeter.  Jeter was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Jeter was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to wear seatbelt, failure to signal, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

GSP NB Entrance 137 @ E. North Avenue

Arrested: Andrew Romano, 60, Garwood

Arrested by: Ptl. Ryan Gerrity

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Heroin); Possession of Paraphernalia; Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe

Remarks:  A 2001 Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue @ GSP NB 137 Entrance for a lane violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Gerrity located heroin and hypodermic needles inside the vehicle.  The driver, Andrew Romano, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance.  Romano was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to signal and possessing a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor  vehicle.

Buchanan Street

Arrested: Kristen Reed, 30, Fairfield VT

Arrested by: Ptl. Robert Jordan

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated; Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe; Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence of Narcotics; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: Patrol Units responded to the dead end section of Buchanan Street for a reported motor vehicle accident.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan determined the driver, Kristen Reed, was operating the vehicle while under the influence.  Furthermore, Ptl. Jordan found in Reed’s possession a hypodermic syringe, and a pipe commonly used to ingest narcotics.  Reed was arrested, processed, and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Reed was issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to a report an accident, failure to exhibit documents, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

S. Union Ave. @ E. Lincoln Avenue

Arrested: Randy Franks, 55, Cranford

Arrested by: Ptl. Brian Lopez

Charges: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance(Heroin); Possession of Paraphernalia; Contempt of Court

Remarks:  While on routine patrol, Ptl. Brian Lopez , determined that an individual know to him, Randy Franks, had an active warrant out of Elizabeth Municipal Court.  While taking Franks into custody on the outstanding warrant, Ptl. Lopez located Heroin in Franks’s possession.  Franks was transported to Cranford PD Headquarters, was processed, and released on his own recognizance from the Elizabeth warrant.  Franks was issued a Superior Court appearance for the narcotics offense.

E. Lincoln Avenue @ Grove Street

Arrested: John Kot, 46, Garwood

Arrested by: Ptl. Daniel Donnerstag

Charges: Possession of Prescription Analog(Suboxone); Possession of False Government Document(Fraudulent Driver’s License); Hindering Apprehension

Remarks: A 2014 Dodge was stopped at the intersection of E. Lincoln Avenue @ Grove Street for multiple equipment violations.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Donnerstag determined that the driver, John Kot, was providing a fraudulent driver license and false name.  Furthermore, Kot was found to be in possession of Suboxone.  Kot was arrested, processed, and released, pending a Superior Court appearance.  Kot was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possessing a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, failure to maintain lamps, driving with high beams illuminated, unclear plates, and failure to exhibit documents.

Arrested: Abdulhaki Mannan, 28, Newark

Charges:  Possession of a Prescription Analog(Oxycodone); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks: A 2000 Lincoln was stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue @ Wall Street for a turn violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Federici located Oxycodone inside the vehicle.  The driver, Abdulhaki Mannan, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Superior Court appearance.  Mannan was issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to maintain lane, failure to observe traffic control signal, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance inside a motor vehicle.
