Arrested: Ryan Andre, 20, Union

Arrested by:  Ptl. Timothy Handy

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana(under 50g); Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 1987 BMW was stopped at the intersection of E. North Avenue @ John Street for multiple equipment violations.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Handy located marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver, Ryan Andre, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  Additionally, Andre was issued motor vehicle summonses for unclear plates, improper window tint, cracked windshield, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Thomas Street @ E. South Avenue

Arrested: Christina Wetmore, 34, Colonia

Arrested by: Ptl. Robert Jordan

Charges:  Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe; Possession of Paraphernalia

Remarks:  A 2009 Honda was stopped at the intersection of E. South Avenue @ Thomas Street for an equipment violation.  Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Jordan located a hypodermic syringe and a glass pipe, commonly used to ingest narcotics, inside the vehicle.  A passenger, Christina Wetmore, was arrested, processed, and released pending a Municipal Court appearance.  The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for having a cracked windshield.

Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
