CRANFORD, NJ – The Cranford Public Library is celebrating the end of its summer reading program with a carnival on Thursday, August 17.

The carnival will feature games, crafts and a bounce house, according to children’s librarian Lauren Antolino. Readers can win prizes at each game as well.

“The carnival’s a reward for everyone who participated in the summer reading program," Antolino said.

Tickets are free and each reader will receive five game tickets. For every five hours that a child spent reading, he or she will receive extra tickets.

Tickets can be picked up at the library from Monday through Wednesday. The carnival will be held in the parking lot from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“We recommend that everyone wear sunscreen, a hat and play clothes,” Antolino said.

A rain date is scheduled for Friday, August 18.
