CRANFORD - Cranford State Farm agent Denis Dankosky recently teamed up with the Saint Joseph Social Service Center in Elizabeth to help them receive much-needed funding.
Throughout April, for each auto and homeowners quote request his office receives, Denis will donate money to the Center. This effort is in conjunction with the State Farm Quotes for Good program where agents choose a charity as the recipient of quote referral donations each month. In March, Denis worked with Family Promise of Union County, an organization which provides services and shelter to families experiencing homelessness or are at the risk of homelessness.
The Saint Joseph Social Service Center welcomes and supports homeless individuals and families from throughout Union County. Those in need are provided compassion and the services needed to put them on a path of healthy living and success. The organization offers a variety of services, such as classes on job readiness and computer skills, a food pantry and soup kitchen, health screenings, and individual, family and group therapy.
“Quotes for Good is the perfect way for me and others to support those who need it most,” says Denis. “I’m excited to work with the Saint Joseph Social Service Center and help them continue providing much-needed services to our homeless neighbors.”
Just in Union County, nearly 350 households are experiencing homelessness and more than 160 children under the age of 18 are homeless. Fifty-eight percent of those children are under the age of six.
“My goal, and the goal of my staff, is to support our neighbors who are struggling,” says Cranford State Farm Agent Denis Dankosky. “It’s extremely important to help people feel valued, gain their independence and begin a path for a successful future.”
