CRANFORD, NJ – Cranford families have two upcoming opportunities to learn about substance abuse prevention.

The Cranford Municipal Alliance, in partnership with 13 other alliances in Union County, will present “Getting High Naturally,” a positive, science-based approach to substance abuse prevention, hosted by psychologist comedian Matt Bellace.

“The event is to help teach prevention of substance abuse through comedy and evidence based practice,” Amber Witt of the Cranford Municipal Alliance said. “No scare tactics here. The Cranford Municipal Alliance stands by our 21 means 21 mission and how prevention as a community is 100 percent attainable.”

Additionally, the Cranford Police Department and Drug Enforcement Agency will host “Hidden in Plain Sight,” a presentation exploring how seemingly everyday items can be indicators of drug use.

“Getting High Naturally” will be held on Monday. March 5 at Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, NJ.

“Hidden in Plain Sight” will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cranford Community Center.
