CRANFORD, NJ – The Cranford Township Committee approved Ordinance 2017-07 at its meeting last month, which allows domestic pets to be licensed either annually or on a three-year basis.
For domestic dogs, there is a fee of $18 for a one-year license for a spayed or neutered dog, a fee of $54 for a three-year license for a spayed or neutered dog, a fee of $21 for a one-year license for a dog that is not spayed or neutered and a fee of $63 for a three-year license for a dog that is not spayed and neutered. These fees are in addition to the state-required payment for dog registration.
The same fees apply for cats as well. The ordinance was approved unanimously without comment by the committee.
Licenses, registration tags and renewals will expire in January of the respective year of expiration. There is a $1 late fee per month for dog license renewal after its expiration date.
The next regular meeting for the Cranford Township Committee is on Tuesday, July 18 at 8 p.m.
