CRANFORD, NJ – The Cranford Township Committee honored the 106th Anniversary of the Girl Scouts at Tuesday Night’s meeting.

Scouts from Cranford's Senior Troop No. 40113 and Cadette Troop No. 40534 were on hand to lead the flag salute and accept a proclamation from Mayor Thomas Hannen, Jr.

“Through girl scouting, girls gain confidence, courage and character and make their whole communities and the world a better place,” the proclamation read.

There are currently more than 2.6 million girl scouts worldwide, Hannen said. More than 1,100 of them live in Cranford.

“Go girls,” Hannen said as the troop members crowded around the podium for a photo with the township committee.
