CRANFORD, NJ - Cranford Township is experiencing a widespread power outage on Friday morning.

Orange Avenue School, Cranford High School and Bloomingdale Avenue School have lost power, according to updates on social media.

According to Lieutenant Ed Davenport of the CPD, partial power outages are a problem countywide.

Cranford Police are aware of the outage. TAPinto Cranford will continue to update when possible.

At 10 a.m., Cranford Public Schools released this message via nixle:

All Schools r in shelter in place & experiencing phone/internet issues.  We r in contact will all schools. No need to go to the schools. 

At 10:40 a.m., Cranford Police Department announced that North Avenue is closed westbound from North Union to Springfield Avenue for a motor vehicle accident. 

At 10:49 a.m., the CPD said power has been restored to all Cranford Public Schools. They are slowly restoring power to the rest of the town.
