The New Jersey Tree Foundation, in partnership with Treecycler, has awarded forty thousand tree and shrub saplings to communities across New Jersey. These free trees and shrubs may be used for reforestation, stream bank restoration and watershed enhancement. Cranford has been approved to receive five hundred trees. We will be planting in locations along flood plains, on streets that suffered tree loss from storms, and areas in need of reforestation.

Working together, the Cranford Environmental Commission and Cranford Tree Advisory Board will oversee the distribution and installation of the new tree seedlings and shrubs. This initiative will help educate students, and the community at large by participating in the planting and ongoing care of trees and shrubs. The planting is scheduled to take place during the last two weeks of April to help celebrate Earth Day, April 22nd and National Arbor Day, April 28th.

Please join us in this important initiative. If you are interested in helping plant, mulch, make tree guards or know a spot that can use a tree seedling please contact:
