CRANFORD, NJ – Cranford girls volleyball opened its season on Tuesday, Sept. 8 with a victory over Edison High School. The Lady Cougars won two of three games, 25-16, 22-25 and 25-19, to take the match.

Several players for Cranford played strong on both sides of the ball; Marielle Mason came up with 19 digs, killed six and served-up 12 points, Maggie Puryear defended with 21 digs while adding 12 service points. Nicole Schneider contributed eight digs, 12 service points and netted 15 assists, while Kacey Waleski defensively had 14 digs and seven service points. Also contributing, Kelly Drake with seven kills and 15 service points.

The lady Cougars will play in their home-opener on Thursday, Sept 10, when they take on Scotch Plains-Fanwood, at 4:00 p.m..
