Downtown Westfield Roads to Close Wednesday Afternoon for Pizza Run

WESTFIELD, NJ —  Westfield police will begin closing streets downtown Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the 14th annual 5K & Pizza Extravaganza that night, according to Sgt. Michael Walsh. Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Quimby Street will close to traffic. Elm Street between North Avenue and East Broad Street will close about an hour later.

At about 6:40 p.m., the remaining roads on the race route will close. Streets will re-open as they clear, according to Walsh.

Thousands are expected to participate in the “Pizza Run” which starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. Organized by the Downtown Westfield Corporation, the event attracted more than 2,600 runners and in excess of 6,000 spectators last year. To learn more, click here.
