SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The warm weather is, hopefully, just around the corner and, according to Edison Heating and Cooling owner Mike Iarrapino, now is the time to ensure that air condition units are working efficiently.

“People who have systems over 15 years old should consider replacing them before the hot weather. You want to have your AC system checked and replaced before the weather changes,” Iarrapino said, adding, “You don't want to be in the position when, on a 95 degree day their system decides to break down.”

At Edison Heating and Cooling, the goal is for homeowners to be able to get the best possible system for their home at the lowest price and the pre-summer months, said Iarrapino, are the most cost-effective time to make a purchase.

“The spring promotions come out March 1 and there are thousands of dollars in potential state and manufacturer rebates and incentives available,” he said. “Right now is a good time to buy.”

For those with fairly new units, Iarrapino said that regular maintenance is important. Ensuring that the filter and coil are clean and there is adequate refrigerant will make your unit last longer and run more efficiently,” he said. “A system that is not running properly will have reduced capacity and use more energy. Routine maintenance will, in the end, cost less and prolong the life of your equipment.”

Established in 1987, Edison Heating and Cooling began as a one-man operation run out of the basement of Iarrapino’s childhood home. At the time, Iarrapino assisted customers from his hometown of Edison and the surrounding communities but as business grew, Edison Heating and Cooling moved into larger facilities throughout South Plainfield and, in May 2015, settled into its current location in Edison.

“What sets us apart is our dedication, reliability, integrity and great workmanship,” Iarrapino said, adding, “With us, you aren’t buying an air conditioning or a heating system you’re buying into a company and its dedicated employees. We stand by our products and our work and we go out of the way for our customers. The awards and the reviews we have received prove that.”

Edison is a full-service residential, commercial and industrial HVAC company providing installations, repair and maintenance, heating and cooling systems, generators, oil to gas conversion, air cleaners, humidifiers/dehumidifiers, boilers, water heaters, zoning systems and chimney liners. Additionally, the company – has 120 employees and a fleet of more than 70 vehicles – provides customers in and services Bergen, Essex, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Somerset and Union counties with financing options and access to 24-hour emergency service seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Edison Heating and Cooling is located at 191 Vineyard Road in Edison. Non-emergency hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.edisonhvac.com or call (732) 372-7161.
