A free breakfast conference focused on efforts to raise awareness concerning the importance of fatherhood and its far-reaching impact upon the quality of life in the community, will be held on Saturday, June 10, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon at the Community Access Unlimited Conference Center located at 80 West Grand Street, Elizabeth, N.J.

The Fifth Annual Union County Fatherhood Conference Breakfast (www.ucnjfatherhood.org), presented by the Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition, is an effort to provide comprehensive strategies and approaches that conference organizers believe will raise awareness and empower men -- young men in particular -- with viable skills and solutions to better navigate the journey of fatherhood.

“The Union County Fatherhood Breakfast Conference allows us the opportunity to reach fathers with information that will allow them to become better fathers, better husbands and better men in the community. There will be resources that they can take and utilize down the road concerning a host of issues and challenges,” Roderick Spearman, Chairman of the Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition stated.

Jalloh, Member of the Union County Chosen Board of Freeholders, followed by a panel discussion moderated by host Stanley Neron and presentations on two innovative initiatives: the  “24/7 Dads Program” and a program titled “Closing the Gap” operated by Union County College. In addition, attendees will have access to resource kiosks that will provide pertinent information on a host of issues impacting fatherhood. The conference will also honor several Union County “Fathers of Resilience” whose inspired stories have exemplified extraordinary efforts to surmount challenges and obstacles to becoming good fathers.
