CRANFORD - Accompanied by family, friends, and his coaches, Evan Kanterman signed his National Letter of Intent to play football at Pace University.
"I did a lot of camps there for a while and I liked the school," said Kanterman. "I liked the football program, the coaches, and I really liked everything about it, especially compared to all the other schools. It stood out."
Kanterman finished up his senior season of football this past fall in which Cranford finished 5-4. The Cougars' season ended with a heart-breaking 22-21 loss to Irvington in the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 quarterfinals. Though he faced some stiff competition at the high school level, Kanterman knows the speed of the game and skill level of the athletes will only increase in college.
Kanterman is currently on the wrestling team and has already won the Union County and District 14 195-pound individual titles, while helping Cranford to its sixth straight Union County team title. He looks to place this weekend at Regions to qualify for the Championships at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
