CRANFORD, NJ – The girls and boys basketball teams both won on Saturday.

The girls traveled to Plainfield High-School and came away with an impressive 79-39 victory. Leading the scoring for the lady cougars was freshman Camryn Wichelns with 23 points and five rebounds. Junior Lyndsay Pace added 18 points of her own and had five steals and senior Erin Meixner contributed 14 points with two rebounds. The cougars were also strong defensively with a total of 29 rebounds and 18 steals. The girls are in action again on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 4 p.m., when the play Union High-School at home.

The boys were in action at home against Roselle High-School. They netted their first win of the season with a 66-49 victory. Junior Jack Schetelich led the team 12 points, Sean Leonard had 11 points and Joe Norton scored ten points. The boys play again on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 4 p.m., when they travel to Rahway High-School.
