Rabbi Dayle A. Friedman will be guest speaker during Rabbi Charles Kroloff’s Lunch & Learn at Temple Emanu-El in Westfield on Monday, April 18 at 11:30 AM.

Rabbi Friedman will discuss her newest book, “Jewish Wisdom for Growing Older: Finding Your Grit and Grace Beyond Midlife.” The path beyond midlife presents both spiritual challenges and opportunities. Those in attendance will explore a Jewish framework for mapping this journey, and will investigate practices and habits that can maximize resiliency and wisdom.

Rabbi Friedman is a pioneer in the development of a Jewish spiritual vision for aging, spiritual care and healing. She was the founding director of Hiddur: The Center for Aging and Judaism at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, which provided education, spiritual resources, and scholarship for elders and their caregivers. Rabbi Friedman currently offers classes, spiritual care, and spiritual direction through Growing Older, her Philadelphia-based, national practice, www.growingolder.net.

A complimentary lunch will be offered. There is no charge to attend. Lunch & Learn is supported by the Rabbi Kroloff Fund for Jewish Learning, to which donations are appreciated. Temple Emanu-El is located at 756 East Broad Street in Westfield, www.tewnj.org.
