CRANFORD – Locals flooded Emma’s Brick Oven on Tuesday evening for its first ever, “Kids Night Out”.
The event went from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and allowed kids to meet their favorite vampire, Vampirina, and get their face painted. The show, “Vampirina,” debuted on Disney Jr. in late 2017 and has been a hit with kids ever since.
Victor Biancamano, who took control of Emma’s in October of 2017, said he got the idea of a Kids Night Out from a night out with his daughter.
“I have a four year old girl. Every week I’m asking myself, ‘Where should I take her? What can I do?’ said Biancamano. “I always try to put a smile on her face. I saw this somewhere in South Jersey and said, ‘You know what? I have to do this!’
By six o’clock, every table, inside and outside, was filled, along with a line to the door. With the success of the event, Biancamano intends to make it a regular promotion. Though Biancamano knew it would be a hit, the response exceeded all expectations, and he promises the next event will run even smoother.
“Next time, I’ll have more hosts, servers, and structure,” added Biancamano. “I didn’t know what to fully expect, but promise to be 100% prepared for the next.”
Tentatively set for Tuesday, June 20th, Biancamano plans to bring in Peppa Pig for his next Kids Night Out. Peppa Pig currently airs on Nick Jr., starring herself, her family, and friends. Though nothing is officially set in stone, the plan is to again run between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and feature face painting and possibly some new activities.
Biancamano is open to any and all new ideas to give his customers the best possible experience.
“We’re all about accommodating people,” said Biancamano. “If we have it, we’ll make it. I never say no to anyone.”
