Lantern Hill Residents Enjoy Day Trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse

Lantern Hill Residents Enjoy Day Trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse

On May 18, more than 12 residents from Lantern Hill, a distinctive Erickson Living Retirement Community in New Providence, New Jersey, took a mini bus from campus to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse to see the comedy, “Born Yesterday.”

“Residents had a wonderful time,” said Concierge Caitlin Sendell. “The play was outstanding, and the location is beautiful.”

The Playhouse is situated on a 90-acre private country estate in the bucolic sylvan hills of New Jersey’s Skylands Region in Hunterdon County.

Before the play, residents enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Playhouse which included a dessert bar with a variety of treats including chocolate covered strawberries, macaroons, cheesecake and a sugar-free station.

Sendell said three more day trips are planned to Hunderdon Hills Playhouse this year as well as trips to Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra at NJPAC.

“Our proximity to the theaters in New Jersey and New York City is a large attraction for residents,” says Lantern Hill Executive Director Patricia Swan. “When they trade homeowner responsibilities for maintenance-free living at Lantern Hill, they have more time to enjoy activities like this.”

Other amenities include three on-site restaurants, an all-season pool and fitness center, art studio, library, transportation, on-site medical center, 24-hour concierge services, and secure underground parking. For more community information, visit

I'm a lifelong New Jersey resident -- including ...
