LINDEN, NJ – Teenagers looking for a lifelong adventure while learning new skills that will benefit them no matter their path should attend the Sea Scout Open House on Saturday October, 1 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event is being hosted by Sea Scout Ship 228, sponsored by the Rahway Yacht Club and Ship 243 sponsored by the Rahway Elks Club. Youth ages 14 years old (or 13 years and completed the eighth grade) to age 20, friends, family, and alumni are invited to attend the event held at the Patriots’ Path Council Sea Scout Base located at 4400 Tremley Point Rd., Linden, New Jersey.
“Sea Scouting is a great way to bring in older boys who may have missed Boy Scouting, and a great way to bring young women into Scouting.” says Ship 228 Committee Chairman Dave McIntyre.
During the Open House, visitors will be able to participate in vessel tours, boat rides, a bridge of honor ceremony, and learn all about what Sea Scouting has to offer.
