CRANFORD - Hillside Avenue School (HAS) has announced that Lori Talbot has been selected as the 2019-2020 Educator of the Year.

Mrs. Talbot is a 3rd Grade Teacher at Hillside Avenue School. She has been teaching for 30 years and has received numerous awards and honors.

"Mrs. Talbot has a tremendous work ethic and consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty," said Kevin Deacon, Principal of Hillside Avenue School. "An example of her dedication is this school year she created a lawn sign, 'Mrs. Talbot is SO PROUD of me!,' that she put up at each of her students’ homes to let them know how wonderful they were doing and to recognize their hard work and effort."

According to Mr. Deacon, Mrs. Talbot provides well-rounded and age-appropriate instruction. She creates meaningful lessons that are engaging, enriching, and exciting. The instruction she provides her students is specific to their individual needs. She holds the belief that every student has the ability to learn and strives to make sure she provides instruction to make them successful.

"Congratulations Mrs. Talbot on this wonderful honor," added Mr. Deacon. "You truly deserve it, and I am extremely happy for you."
