UNION COUNTY, NJ – In every community, there are women spending countless hours in either volunteer work or at jobs dedicated to the welfare of their towns and cities. Now, their neighbors have an opportunity to thank these individuals by nominating them for the 25th Annual Women of Excellence Awards.
The award celebrates women who live or work in Union County and have made major contributions of professional or volunteer work in the categories of Arts and Humanities, Business and Entrepreneurial, Community Service, Education, Government, Law, Law Enforcement, Medicine and Health Care, or Women’s Advocacy.
The award is open to all women, 21 years or older, who live, work, or volunteer in Union County. It is sponsored by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Commission on the Status of Women to highlight the powerful impact that women have on the Union County community.
“Over the span of a quarter-century, the Women of Excellence Awards have chronicled the many different ways in which women lend their talents, hearts and hands to improve life for all of us,” said Freeholder Chairman Bruce H. Bergen. “If you know a woman who has made an extraordinary difference in your community, I encourage you to submit her name for consideration.”
Nominations can also come from local government agencies, businesses, and non-profits.
