CLARK, NJ - When Executive Chef Mike Mikulis found his way to Oh’ Brian’s on the Green a few short months ago he brought along his years of culinary experience and a love of creating great food.

“It’s my house, I want everyone happy," Mikulis said. "It’s all about making people happy and I believe as long they are happy they’ll keep coming back.”

Happy describes Mikulis when he talks about his gastronomic passions and pursuits.

“I’ve never looked at what I do like work, it’s like being with family and putting out good food,” he explained.

Mikulis began his journey at the age of fourteen when he asked to join the crew he watched through the windows at the Avon Pavilion in Avon-by-the-Sea.  Although he was turned away because he was too young, Mikulis was not deterred and continued to go back each year until he was finally hired.  He has worked at various iconic Jersey Shore restaurants perfecting his craft ever since.

Locally sourced seasonal ingredients and making things from scratch are important to Mikulis. He finds inspiration in good quality ingredients which help him to create imaginative dishes.

“An idea will just pop into my head, I’ll get an idea and create a new dish from it,” explained Mikulis.

He plans to bring his creativity to each of the seasonal menus he creates at Oh’ Brian’s on the Green.  The new fall 2016 menu reflects Mikulis’ zeal for providing high-end gastro pub fare.

Among the options for starters on the menu are Thai Fried Shrimp, Warm Camembert Cheese Fondue and one dish that brought a smile to Mikulis’ face when he said spoke about it, the Short Rib Disco Fries.  These epic pub fries include braised short rib, mozzarella cheese, fried onions and gravy.

The main dishes are equally tempting each served up with a twist of upscale.   The Pulled Pork Parpadelle served with broccoli rabe, cherry peppers and chili flakes is a seasonal highlight on the menu.   The Chicken and Waffles are a great representation of a classic dish made special here with fried chicken thighs, a house made sage waffle and a maple bourbon glaze.   Whether it is a signature burger, sandwich, salad or a hand-crafted specialty pizza from The Pizza Bar, there is something for everyone on the menu.

Mikulis is looking forward to being a part of some exciting events at Oh’ Brian’s on the Green in the next few months.  Starting now, customers can order a complete Thanksgiving meal to go from Oh’ Brian’s this year.   Pick up the meal and go home to enjoy a great holiday meal without all the stress.  On December 3, Oh’ Brian’s will host an Asbury Park Tap Takeover and dinner pairing.  Just in time for Christmas bring the kids to enjoy brunch with Santa on December 10.

I'm Excited To See What Sara Todisco Will Do As Mayor.

My first time hearing the name Sara Todisco was when reading about her in a newspaper article during her first year on Council. A couple citizens made comments about her age and how they thought she was too young on an anonymous online forum. I responded that here was a young person eager to get involved in our town. We should give her a chance and if we weren't satisfied, we could ...
