CRANFORD/FLORHAM PARK, NJ - For over 50 years, the Ajello family has filled Pastosa’s creamy ravioli and their customer’s bellies with the finest ingredients. Whether grabbling a handcrafted specialty sandwich for lunch, a dinner to go or placing a catering order, Pastosa stands ready to serve up culinary delights with old fashioned values and a tradition of quality.

Anthony G. Ajello opened the first Pastosa store in 1966. Ajello’s passion and enthusiasm for fine Italian specialty products were like no other. He was determined to provide his customers not only superior products, but excellent customer service.

Ajello’s vision was just what Brooklyn needed and in time, his tiny store became a huge success. Customers would line up out the door to purchase their ravioli and fresh mozzarella.

Meanwhile, Ajello was busy making plans for the expansion of Pastosa. Within a few years, Pastosa developed a wholesale department and eventually grew from one Brooklyn-based store to eleven stores throughout New York and New Jersey.

Currently in its third-generation of ownership, Ajello’s name-sake and grandson and his partners co-own locations in Cranford and Florham Park, New Jersey. They strive to continue to bring Grandfather Ajello’s passion for fine Italian specialties and Pastosa’s supreme customer service to both locations.

“We’re not just another store where you run in, grab what you want and go,” Ajello said. “We make it a point to get to know our customers. We want to you to feel like you’re a part of our family.”

Pastosa sets itself apart from other Italian specialty stores through their customer service and the variety of options they provide their customers year-round.

Customers in need of lunch will find the finest imported meat sandwiches topped with handmade mozzarella in the deli. If a crowd is expected, Pastosa can help make holiday or special event meal-planning easier with many catering options. For everyday or special days, Pastosa’s staple, hand-crafted ravioli are ready to go for dinner.

The Pastosa brand recently celebrated their 50th Anniversary, recognizing decades of fine foods, specially created and purveyed for their loyal clients. Cranford welcomed Pastosa with open arms and remains a top location for catering during its fourth holiday season. The Florham Park location is open and currently celebrating its first holiday season in the community.

“The holiday season in Cranford is always a good time,” said Ajello. “We enjoy working with other businesses downtown to really make something special for all residents. And with this being Florham Park’s first holiday season, we’re excited to see what’s in store.”

As Ajello mentioned, Pastosa is not just another store, they are a member of the community, and look forward to connecting with their customers this holiday season and in the years to come.

If you’re in the area, stop by either Pastosa location on December 23 or 24 for entertainment, holiday tastings and visits with Santa.
