CRANFORD - After a tip from a concerned citizen, the Cranford Police Department arrested two men in connection with illegal drug activity taking place on Hawthorne Street in Cranford.

According to the release, after days of watching the home, Detectives were able to identify Kevin Frullo, 46, as the resident of the Cranford home and suspected him of engaging in drug activity. On the morning of November 13, 2019, members of the Cranford Police Investigative Division setup surveillance in the vicinity and arrested Frullo outside of his home and charged him with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

In addition, a 2019 Honda Civic was also stopped in the area after Detectives witnessed the operator conduct a drug transaction with Frullo. Police arrested Wesley Atherely, 38, of Newark and charged him with several counts of Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. On scene Detectives located and seized over 500 folds of Heroin, 28 bags of Cocaine, 3 bags of Crack-Cocaine and $2,046 in cash from Atherely’s vehicle.

Both men were processed at Cranford Police Headquarters and released pending a Union County Superior Court appearance.
