UNION COUNTY, NJ - Bikes, trikes, quads and police squads rolled out of Roselle’s Warinanco Park on Sunday, September 20, during the Chapter 2 New Jersey Freedom Ride of Rolling Thunder. Rolling Thunder is a non-profit organization of riders that donate their time to bring awareness to the POW/MIA issue.
Thousands of motorcyclists partake of this ride every September with the common goal of educating the public of the fact that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all past wars. To help correct the past and to protect future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners Of War/Missing in Action. Rolling thunder is committed to helping American veterans from all wars.
Citizens from Elizabeth, Roselle, Linden and surrounding towns lined Saint Georges Avenue as the myriad of bikes roared past on their way to the NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, in Holmdel, NJ. Cars beep, fans wave and everyone enjoyed the sights of the various cycles in the procession.
The event was sponsored by: Rolling Thunder, Inc., New Jersey Chapter 2, New Jersey Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Foundation and the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
