CRANFORD - The Cranford High School varsity girls soccer team honored its nine seniors on Monday night at Memorial Field against Watchung Hills. 

The nine seniors - Nellie Clark, Caroline Ewing, Maidson Flynn, Claire Ganley, Maya Jones, Maggie Murray, Brooke Swandrak, Laurel Teel, and Zoe Trotta, all started the game but found themselves in an early 2-0 hole, which held until halftime. 

Cranford was able to battle back from behind twice, tying the game at 2-2 and 3-3 off goals by Swandrak and Murray, respectively, but went on to fall 4-3 after a goal by Jenna Tobia with just under 18 minutes remaining.

The Cougars will have the next three days to gear up for the Union County Tournament Championship Round on Friday when they take on Westfield at Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark at 7:30 p.m. Cranford has swept the season series with the Blue Devils the past two years.
