Storm and Parking Information for Cranford Residents

CRANFORD, NJ - The latest information from the National Weather Service indicates snow totals for the Cranford area in the 12" range. Snow is expected to begin around 4 a.m..

The Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 12 a.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Residents are asked to remove any vehicles from the roadways to assist the DPW in keeping the roads clear. Please use your driveway or neighbor’s driveway if possible.  Residents living in the downtown that normally park in municipal parking lots with Overnight Permits are to park in the parking deck after 4 pm today, starting on level 2.  Anyone using the parking garage is reminded NOT to park in spaces marked as Cranford Crossing Resident Parking. These spaces are leased by the Cranford Crossing Complex. Vehicles parked in these spaces are subject to towing. In addition, any cars not parked in marked spaces will be ticketed.

ALL residents who park on a State or County road are required to remove their vehicles from the roads when snow covered.  These roadways include:

  • North Avenue (State Rt 28)
  • South Avenue
  • Centennial Avenue
  • Raritan Road
  • Walnut Avenue
  • Springfield Avenue
  • Kenilworth Boulevard

In additon see the attached map or follow this link to see municipal roadways that parking is prohibiuted during a snow storm. 

Any snow covered vehicles that remain parked on the street for more than 48 hours are considered abandoned by NJSA 39:4-56.5.

As always, please check on elderly or home bound neighbors during the storm.
