CRANFORD - On Monday morning, the Cranford Police Department responded to three south-side residences on reported car burglaries.

The incidents occurred during the overnight hours on both South Union Avenue as well as Georgia Street. The Garwood Police Department swiftly alerted neighboring agencies that they had arrested an individual, Angelo Spalliero, 29 years of age from Staten Island, in their town for having stolen property in his possession.

Following an investigation, Det. Christopher DiFabio of the Cranford Police Department charged Spalliero with burglary, theft, and theft of a credit card. Spalliero was provided with a Superior Court appearance date and is being held in the Union County Jail awaiting a detention hearing in connection with crimes he committed in Garwood.
