TAPinto.net to Host Open House for Students Interested in Communication and Journalism Careers, October 6

Students from Union County, ages 13 - 20, who are interested in careers in the journalism, communications, social media, and more are invited to attend an open house for the communication and journalism Exploring Post 100 on Thursday, October 6 from 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Westfield Knights of Columbus (2400 North Avenue, Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076). Students who attend will be partnered with a local TAPinto franchise and begin to report in their local communities.

A second meeting will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Scotch Plains Baptist Church (333 Park Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076).  This meeting will be the first training for new members and will be a time for them to meet and connect with their local editors.  This is a mandatory meeting for all those interested in joining the post.

Communications Exploring is a hands-on program that exposes participants to many career opportunities in TV, radio, journalism, graphic design and other communications areas.  Exploring is in association with the Boy Scouts of America.  Post 100 is chartered by TAPinto.net.

Rutgers Hikes Tuition, Student Fees for 2018-2019 Academic Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The increase now brings the annual cost for undergraduate students to $14,975, which is $337 more than this past school year.
