With very little rain in the forecast, Northern New Jersey’s weather will be perfect for the many outdoor events taking place this weekend. All of the events featured this week are family friendly with low to no cost admission prices.

Food Truck Festival at the Hermitage

If you have yet to visit Bergen County’s famed Gothic revival museum, you must make it a point to tour the grounds. This National Historic Landmark built in the 19th century will host its Second Annual Food Truck Festival on Saturday starting at 11 am. Admission is only $5 per person with children under 5 free. Besides sampling food from the trucks, guests are invited to watch live musical performances from local talent.

City Place Annual Sidewalk Sale

Every year, City Place at The Promenade in Edgewater hosts a weekend-long party to bring in droves of shoppers. Shop exclusive deals from popular retailers such as Aerosoles, Carter’s, and Pier 1 Imports. Listen to live musical acts while you shop, enter raffles, and bring the kids along for face painting. Free 10-minute massage sessions will also be sponsored by R & R with Hand and Stone. The event will be from Friday through Sunday.

The Parade of Pollinators

Looking for a unique nature experience to take part in this weekend? Then, you must head to Valley Crest Farm and Preserve on Saturday for the Parade of Pollinators. From 10 am to 11:30 am, you’ll get to see the farm’s 14 beehives in action. The class will view and learn about the farm’s bees and monarch butterflies while touring the farm. Cost to attend is $5. The market will be open following your visit to take home delicious fresh produce. The farm also has a pick your own program that allows you to select and buy your own fruits and vegetables from their crops.

Taste of West Orange International Food Fest

On July 22, the city of West Orange will be celebrating the rich diversity of the area with a food festival highlighting cuisines from all over the world. The event will take place at OSPAC on Saturday from 4 pm to 10 pm with free admission. Food vendors will include Angry Archie’s, My Four Suns, Waffle De Lys, and many more. Amusement rides and carnival games will also be on hand for the event.

Small Fire Extinguished at Addams Tavern in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — It likely started with a smoldering cigarette, according to Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Tiller.

The fire that started in a flower planter on an outside deck on the second floor of Addams Tavern Wednesday caused a lot of smoke as it spread to the flooring, but only about a three-foot by three-foot area was damaged, Tiller said.

Spring Art Show Displays Students' Creativity

CRANFORD - The Cranford High School Spring Art Show was held at the Cranford Public Library, on Tuesday. 

From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., artwork from classes such as crafts, graphic design, photography, and drawing was on display for the public to promote the creative and unique projects done by students throughout the school year.
