Elizabeth, NJ– More than 450 guests attended the Trinitas Health Foundation’s annual Gala with the theme “Peace of Mind” on Thursday, May 10 at the Venetian in Garfield.  Funds exceeding $560,000 were raised, making it the second most successful gala in the history of Trinitas.

Guests participated in both a Silent Auction and Live Auctions, the “Pick-a-Treasure” and “Tricky Tray” tables, and a 50/50 cash raffle.  They also danced to the music of The Infernos, enjoyed an outstanding cocktail hour and a sumptuous dinner.  MC’d by Elizabeth’s own NJ Burkett, the renowned WABC-TV “Eyewitness News” broadcast journalist, the award portion of the evening honored The Healthcare Foundation of NJ with the “Humanitarian Award,” while representatives from Allscripts received the “Celebrating Philanthropy Award.”

“Both honorees have been very generous to Trinitas in helping to care for our vulnerable patient population, and for that, we are very grateful,” said Nadine Brechner, Chief Development Officer and Vice President of the Trinitas Health Foundation.  “A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Behavioral Health Renovation Project at the New Point Campus.”

Trinitas provides inpatient, outpatient, mobile and day programs for adults and children with behavioral health, psychiatric and addiction/substance abuse issues. In addition to operating a 98-bed inpatient facility, the New Point campus is the site of almost 200,000 outpatient behavioral health visits annually. Trinitas is the only hospital in the state with programs, both inpatient and outpatient, for adults and children and inpatient programs for those who are dually diagnosed with both a mental illness and a developmental disability.

“The renovations will enhance patients’ experience by providing a more welcoming environment for thousands of patients each year and will allow Trinitas to provide facilities that reflect the excellent care our patients receive,” said Brechner, who is already looking forward to next year’s gala set for May 9, 2019.
