CRANFORD, NJ – Union County College (UCC) will celebrate two Commencement Ceremonies on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. The ceremonies will be led by the College’s President, Dr. Margaret M. McMenamin, in the Harwood Arena on the campus of Kean University in Union, NJ.

The first ceremony will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the Associate in Arts degrees, Associate in Applied Science degrees, Certificates, and Certificates of Achievement will be conferred. At the second ceremony, which will begin at 6 p.m., the Associate in Science degrees will be conferred.

The Class of 2018 is one of the largest classes in the history of the College. A tradition during the Commencement Ceremonies is the annual presentation of the Post-Day Memorial Awards and the Alumni Prize Award. The coveted Alumni Prize Award is presented to the graduate who maintained the highest grade-point average at Union County College. This award will be presented at the 6 p.m. ceremony.

The Post-Day Memorial Awards are presented to the full and part-time graduating students who best exemplify the College’s ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service. The Post-Day Memorial Award was instituted more than 50 years ago in memory of two Union County College students who were killed in an automobile accident en route to their graduation. The Post-Day Memorial Awards will be presented during both ceremonies.
