Union County College Financial Aid Workshops

CRANFORD, NJ -- On Saturday, April 16, and continuing into May, Union County College (UCC) will host series of Financial Aid Workshops to educate future college students about financial aid opportunities, scholarships, grants, and loans.

Attendees will receive help in completing their financial aid application.The workshops take place at the following dates and times:
•    Saturday, April 16, at 10:00 a.m. – Plainfield Campus, Room 117
•    Wednesday, April 20, at 6:00 p.m.– Elizabeth Campus, Kellogg Building, Rm. 227
•    Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. – Rahway location at 1591 Irving Street  
•    Friday, May 6, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. – Plainfield Campus, Room 111
•    Saturday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m.– Elizabeth Campus, Kellogg Building, Rm. 230
•    Friday, May 13, at 12:00 p.m. – Elizabeth Campus, Kellogg Building, Rm. 230
•    Saturday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. – Rahway location at 1591 Irving Street  
•    Friday, May 20, at 12:00 p.m. – Elizabeth Campus, Kellogg Building Rm. 230 

To get started with financial aid applications, bring your 2015 Federal Income Tax Return, W-2s, and Social Security cards for you (and your parents if they claim you as a dependent on their tax form).  All of the workshops are free to attend.

Small Fire Extinguished at Addams Tavern in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — It likely started with a smoldering cigarette, according to Deputy Fire Chief Anthony Tiller.

The fire that started in a flower planter on an outside deck on the second floor of Addams Tavern Wednesday caused a lot of smoke as it spread to the flooring, but only about a three-foot by three-foot area was damaged, Tiller said.

Spring Art Show Displays Students' Creativity

CRANFORD - The Cranford High School Spring Art Show was held at the Cranford Public Library, on Tuesday. 

From 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., artwork from classes such as crafts, graphic design, photography, and drawing was on display for the public to promote the creative and unique projects done by students throughout the school year.
