Union County St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee Hosts 'Celebrity Bartenders' Fundraising Event

UNION, NJ – The Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee hosted their annual ‘Celebrity Bartender’ fundraiser on Sunday at the VFW in Kenilworth. 

This year’s Parade General Chairman, Kerry E. Ricci, said, “this is a tremendous success and we’ve raised a record breaking amount of money.  Special thanks to Kathy Noonan and Marc Dowling for co-chairing the event and for all those who volunteered their time to help set up, clean up, and work during the event.  Also, a huge thank you to Peerless Beverage Company for their generous donations.”  Ricci also congratulated Debbie and Gene Sully for being honored by the parade committee for their ongoing dedication to the parade.

Frank McGovern of Cranford has been named this year’s parade grand marshal.  McGovern said, “it’s a nice honor for me and my family.”

Also at the fundraising event, the Union County Freeholders presented a check for $4,000 to the parade committee.

The 2016 Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 12.  The parade is held in Union, and begins on Morris Avenue and Commerce Street and ends on Stuyvesant Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue.  The parade begins at 1:00.
