CRANFORD, NJ - The "Walk/5K for Mom in Memory of Charlotte Dursee" will take place on Sept. 20, 2015 at Nomahegan Park in Cranford.
Holy Trinity Interparochial School, a pre-K to 8th grade Catholic elementary school with campuses in Westfield and Mountainside, will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from the event.
In the past 16 years, this event has raised more than $100,000 for various local charities.
The Dursee family began the Walk/5K for Mom in Honor of Charlotte Dursee in 1999 after she lost her battle to breast cancer at age 53.
Charlotte Dursee was a woman with a strong sense of her Catholic faith. Her commitment to her family and faith led her to Holy Trinity School. She sent her six children there and went on to serve as the Home & School Association president. The school’s sense of community, faith and excellence in education was something that Mrs. Dursee held dear to her heart. As the sole beneficiary of this year’s Walk/5K for Mom in Memory of Charlotte Dursee, Holy Trinity Interparochial School will be able to continue to help families facing financial hardships.
Awards will be given out to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall runners in the 5K, and male and female by age group (10 and Under, 70 and Over).
Registration at the event will open at 8:00 a.m., and the race will begin at 9:00 a.m.
