EDISON, NJ -- The Kindergarten Class at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison shared poems, songs and personal reflections during a heart-warming graduation ceremony in the Berry Performing Arts Center on June 4. A class of 21 kindergarteners graduated and confidently announced their readiness for first grade.
The ceremony began with a procession and flag salute. After the singing of Yankee Doodle Dandy, the class shared a poem entitled "First Grade, Here We Come." The Kindergarten graduates shared five more songs before offering their personal accounts of "The best part about Kindergarten was ... "
Kindergarten teachers Jennifer Geissler and Kelly Marikakis presented certificates to the young graduates before the recessional of next year's first graders. The youngsters and their parents and friends enjoyed refreshments at a reception following the event.
