Wardlaw-Hartridge School Athletes Honored at Rams Recognition Night

The athletic department at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison held Rams Recognition Night, its annual awards dinner, to celebrate the accomplishments of the athletes and teams, on May 24 in Plumeri Gym.

Karl Miran, Athletic Director, and Don Tobey, Booster Club president, made opening remarks and welcomed the guests.

Five senior athletes who compiled at least nine varsity letters received W-H blankets: Allison Haley of Colonia, Carlin Schildge of Westfield, Samantha Anastasiou of Scotch Plains, Andrea Tobar of South Plainfield and Sidney Daniel of Plainfield. Girls’ soccer coach Mike Romeo of Plainfield was named Coach of the Year and the girls' tennis team received the Highest GPA Award.

Athletes who earned four varsity letters in a sport received special silver plates: seniors Sarah Abdelaal of Iselin, Samantha Anastasiou of Scotch Plains, Neha Chhabra of Watchung, Sidney Daniel of Plainfield, Melanie Davis of Metuchen, Allison Haley of Colonia, Gabby Hoffman of Berkeley Heights, Jimmy Huang of North Plainfield, Kerry McGrath of Carteret, Andrew Park of Westfield, Marissa Pyne of Plainfield, Jordan Rose of Watchung, Carlin Schildge of Westfield, Ellena Son of Woodbridge, Andrea Tobar of South Plainfield, Brennan Wright of Westfield and Jeremy Zhou of Plainfield.

Carlin Schildge of Westfield and Jordan Rose of Watchung delivered wonderful speeches about their experiences as W-H athletes and what it means “to be a Ram.”
