EDISON, NJ -- The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison, a coeducational, college preparatory day school enrolling 465 students in Prekindergarten through grade 12, earned the No. 1 rating among all Middlesex County private schools in the 2020 Best Schools in America rankings released by real estate website Niche.com.
Wardlaw+Hartridge also received A+ grades for Academics, College Prep and Diversity and an overall grade of A+.
“As a parent at the school and the Head of School, I have known for years that Wardlaw+Hartridge provides an outstanding environment for learning at the highest levels and also a warm, inclusive environment that promotes positive character and social growth,” said Andrew Webster, Head of School. “I am particularly proud of the ways our students engage with global issues and seek a deep understanding of cultures beyond the walls of the school. To be recognized for these strengths with the top ranking is gratifying for all of us who work hard to challenge and support our students' growth and achievements every day.”
The W+H campus is located on 36 wooded acres at the conjunction of Middlesex, Union and Somerset counties. With an early childhood program that offers hands-on experiential learning, to an Upper School with rich academic offerings, the school is large enough to offer 19 advanced placement classes for high school students, but small enough to provide an intimate learning environment for everyone. The campus houses a new performing arts center, three state-of-the-art STEM labs, three art studios, the Snowdon Library with a Center for Global Learning and videoconferencing center, a television studio, outdoor classroom, two gymnasiums, a 25-yard swimming pool, tennis courts and two athletic turf fields. The school truly embodies its six core values: integrity, opportunity, support, diversity, community and sustainability. For more information, visit www.WHschool.org.
