Students in grades 2-5 at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison entertained the audience with a spectacular performance at the Lower School Spring Concert in the AP Room on May 4.
The fifth graders provided one of the highlights of the evening with an instrumental and vocal combination to Lava, featuring ukulele playing by Anushka Dalal of Scotch Plains, Maxim Golubev of Edison, Maria Guseva of Staten Island, Charlie Silver of Rahway and Naomi Valcourt of South Plainfield. The Fourth Grade Band made its performance debut with an assortment of traditional melodies and third graders proudly displayed their talents with a recorder rendition of the Military March.
Various grade combinations performed vocals, including the sweet When I Sing by the third and fourth grades and Humpty Dumpty by the second and fifth grades. The fourth graders also performed their own original tune - New Jersey, Our Home. The surprise finale was a special gift to departing Lower School Head Maggie Granados - a beautiful vocal rendition of the traditional gaelic blessing May the Road Rise Up to Meet You.
