CRANFORD, NJ - Each year fire departments across the country take to the schools to discuss fire safety during October, which is Fire Prevention Month. This month the theme is "Hear the Beep, Where you Sleep." 

Recently What's Cookin' Cranford caught up with Lt. Matt Lubin, who heads up the initiative for the Cranford Fire Department.

During his interview with show host Marazza Kruk, Lubin addresses the use and regulations regarding smoke alarms and fire extinguishers, in addition to demonstrating ways to deal with common home occurences like kitchen pan and electrtical fires.

Lubin and his fellow firefighters are visiting each Cranford Public School during the month and providing tips, such as how to react during a house fire; watch this video for four tips to share with your children.

Horne, a junior, has 408 career saves. Her current total for the season is 84 saves as she helped lead the Cougars to victory in games against Montville and Governor Livingston.
