Come join the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield (JLEP) for our Summer Social happening Tuesday, July 18th at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Stage House Tavern in Scotch Plains.  This is a great chance to learn more about the League, all the good work we do in the local community, and meet some really awesome ladies.  Weather permitting, we'll be out on the patio.

Freeholders Honor Elizabeth Police Officers Who Rescued Boy Struck By Train

ELIZABETH, NJ - Two city police officers who rescued a 13-year-old boy struck by a freight train were honored Thursday night by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Elizabeth Police Officers Eric Santiago Gora and Luciano Nicolas Porto responded to Franklin Street on May 11 to find the boy going into shock with an amputated leg.

Volunteers Needed to Assemble Care Packages for US Troops Overseas

BRIDGEWATER, NJ  - Volunteers are needed to assemble personal care packages that will be shipped to US troops deployed around the world on Saturday, July 22, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at TD Bank Ballpark.

The Somerset Patriots and Operation Shoebox New Jersey will host the event; members of the Patriots are expected to help out packing boxes.
