CRANFORD - The annual Cranford Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony has been canceled due to the coronavirus. Despite the cancelation, the Cranford VFW Post 335 is working on an alternative program to honor the men and women who have served our country.

"We know this is an important tradition in Cranford, but during this extraordinary pandemic, we cannot risk the health and safety of those who would march and spectators," read the announcement in the Township of Cranford daily newsletter on May 6.

Each year, the commemoration would begin with a parade through town and end with a ceremony at Memorial Park on Springfield Avenue.
