CRANFORD - Cranford has been named Central Jersey's 'Town with Most Holiday Spirit' by mycentraljersey.com readers.
Of the 10 towns up for nomination, Cranford blew away the competition by earning 63% of the vote. The other nine towns considered were Clinton, Flemington, Lambertville, Metuchen, New Brunswick, Princeton, Rahway, Somerville, and Westfield.
MyCentralJersey mentioned Cranford's numerous holiday events and activities such as the Winter Wonderland Window Decorating Contest, Christmas Carol Karaoke at The Garlic Rose, and multiple visits from Santa.
The article went on to say:
Besides the many activities and events offered by the almost 150-year-old town, the streets and buildings were dressed in holiday finery complete with plenty of Winter Wonderland swag. Lights, trees and wreaths — of both elegant and quirky design — were a plenty with both homes, businesses and municipal buildings getting in on the action. Besides the holiday cheer, the community support was obvious with so many backing the effort to be named "Town with the most Holiday Spirit."
